MCC’s Native American Club offers an Indian taco lunch and presentation by Bucko Teeple, Bay Mills Indian Community elder, at noon May 2 in rooms 303-05 in the MCC Beatrice E. Doser Building.  Teeple is a nationally known and respected elder, pipe carrier, dancer and keeper of traditional wisdom.  He will discuss “Native Activism and the Walleye Wars:  Treaties and Fishing Rights in the Great Lakes.”  Lunch is free to students with current MCC IDs and $2 for others.

Mark your calendar for the 20thannual Heritage Festival Aug. 2, 3 and 4 in Heritage Village on MCC’s Sidney campus.  The three-day celebration features historical displays, events, refreshments and music for all ages.  The MCC Foundation offers a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Aug. 4 in the cafeteria.  Proceeds fund an MCC scholarship.  The festival is offered by the Montcalm Heritage Village Committee, a group of community volunteers that works year around in the historical village; MCC and the MCC Foundation.
